We encourage you to continue to enjoy our resort by observing the following guidelines:
Remember: 10-person maximum on each dock at one time. Respect social distancing.
Please abide by these guidelines and help us to stay in compliance by reminding your neighbors, family and friends to STAY SAFE!
We are pleased to announce the water will be turned on to the park this weekend. This means the park will open on Saturday, April 25.
However, it will open under the stipulations outlined below, in the April 11 update.
At this point, in accordance with the Executive Order guidelines, we plan to move forward with opening WBR to campers and boaters on Monday, May 4 with the following stipulations:
WBR Management responsibility
"When approved by the Executive Council and filed in the Office of the Secretary of State, such orders and rules have the force and effect of law during the peacetime emergency. Any inconsistent rules or ordinances of any agency or political subdivision of the state are suspended during the emergency. Any person who willfully violates such an order or rule is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction must be punished by a fine not to exceed $1,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 days" (Executive order 20-04). We would prefer to avoid this consequence!
We believe our campers have a right to enjoy their summer homes and boats. We also have a societal, ethical and legal responsibility to abide by the Executive Order to the fullest extent possible, in a manner that will keep our friends and families safe and healthy.
WBR management staff will be at the resort 7 days a week to monitor the camping and boating activities, enforce appropriate social distancing and safe behaviors, and provide whatever assistance is needed to promote a healthy camping and boating season.
Management reserves the right to offer reminders and redirection if the community health guidelines are not being followed. Residents/boaters who repeatedly violate the social distancing and group size guidelines may be asked to leave the resort.
We’re just as excited for the upcoming camping and boating season as you are, but we need to be healthy to run the resort, and you need to be healthy to go camping and boating!

With a “shelter in place” executive order now a reality, there will be impacts on the opening of Whispering Bay Resort.
WBR is considered a “non-essential” business, and is, therefore, shut down via executive order. This will last until May 1 (the same timeline for bars, restaurants, other public facilities, as well as schools).
This is something we as a community and as citizens, and as a business, need to take very seriously. In that vein, we will delay opening of the resort until May 1 (unless orders change or are extended). As the situation changes each week, we will keep you updated.
This means that Whispering Bay Resort will be CLOSED to residents; WBR is NOT a place to “shelter in place” or visit during this time. Please, for the safety of the residents, stay away from the resort. If people cannot abide by this, we WILL have to take further measures to ensure no entry to the resort.
We are ALL very excited for a summer season, and we hope to be able to gather. This situation is out of our hands, however, and we will follow the rules put in place by county, state and federal authorities.
We will continue to be in touch, and will keep you updated with new information as it comes.

We know COVID-19 is impacting everyone in some way. We don't know yet how it will impact WBR opening, as health regulations and suggestions are changing daily.
We will keep you informed as we make decisions that are best for our community.
Stay safe and healthy.
